Back to the Grind

Well the holidays are over (I still have many gifts yet to finish/send out) and everyone is getting back to the grind! I was working on so many Christmas gifts I didn't make much for myself or my Etsy (I will have a post after all gifts are sent out with all the gifts I made). I did make a super awesome New Year's Eve dress for my sister though!

We saw this dress at Anthropologie:

It was only $90 so not bad, but it wasn't completely what she was looking for. She wanted some sparkle. I had remembered seeing a pattern that was very similar (Simplicity 4070) and figured we could check out the fabric and create one even cooler.

Here was our end product:

We used a tulle/sequin overlay and a gorgeous teal taffeta for the dress. I thought she looked amazing and it was just the one of a kind dress she was looking for.

Until next time, happy crafting!

Everyone Needs a Little Bit of Glitter in Their Life

My sister is a little bit obsessed with glitter and by a little I mean A LOT! Not too long ago she found a link on Pinterest on how to add glitter to your Starbucks cup and she just had to have it! Well off to Michael's we went (we already had the Starbucks cup). I used a glitter spray glue because I was a bit confused when I got to the store. The glitter might've stuck better with the glue spray for glitter but I should've probably bought a clear gloss spay also to spray over the glitter once I finished. Also, my glitter got a little too thick onto the cup so some glitter got knocked off when I replaced the outside covering. My sister's cup will probably never be able to be taken apart again and to be honest I'm surprised the original maker can take hers apart without losing lots of glitter also!

I made my sister's with blue glitter for the Cowboys because she is a huge Cowboys fan haha.

Until next time, happy crafting!!

Halloween is Fast Approaching!

This is probably my favorite time of the year. The leaves start turning, the air gets crisper, you can wear your boots again! Also it's Halloween time!!! Recently I made a Halloween vest for my mom! I used Butterick pattern 5888. She wanted 2 different Halloween vests and I'm working on the second right now!

The bat fabric was just too cute and it sparkles! She really likes it!

I also made a few Halloween themed headbands. They are very similar to the sweaty bands brand but don't cost an arm and a leg (I sell them for $5). If you want one let me know!

The ghosts sparkle!

Until next time, happy crafting!

Ballerina's Dream

So my sister's birthday was a little while ago. Being the kid at heart she is, and a tinkerbell loving girl, I decided to make her a tutu. She has always wanted one that she could run races in and bike in during rides and such so I made it my goal to make her the most amazing tutu ever! Here is the result:

That is her friend Pia on the left. She was so excited when I dropped it off at the camp she was a councilor at. Her friend's liked the end product so much that they wanted one too! Two of the girls have birthdays around the same time as her so they asked for them too!

Gold, green, blue

Orange, red, pink

I think they really liked them! I have a ton of tulle left and a ton of elastic left so if anyone wants a tutu for themselves leave a comment!

March Madness

Ok so in the last like 2 years I have been making headbands and selling them. They are no slip with a velvet back and ribbon top and secured by elastic. If they are in stock they are $5.00 and special orders are $7.00.

Starting in March I will introduce 5 new patterns each month. The old patterns will still be available until they are sold out but can be ordered as a special order.

March's new patterns!

Silver Sparkles
Green with Circle Sparkles
Green Clovers
Large Basketballs
Small Basketballs

When I think of March I think of St. Patrick's day and college basketball finals, so the theme for March is such!

I still have all of these great styles available too!

If you are interested in ordering any of these styles please comment with your e-mail address or message me and I will get in contact with you about your order.
